I was thinking I'm the only one waiting for the inventory data eagerly.I just stopped short of opening a thread though:)
As ridiculous and pathetic as it may sound in our case, Homo sapiens like to wait for something good or in 'hope' for the good to come.
While waiting for GC eternally, we learned to wait for VB each month,Demand Data used for VB each month,Inventory Data released quarterly. Of course, for all the analysis & comments that come out of each of these data points.
If it helps any, don't expect it before Tuesday/Wednesday next week.
Have a wonderful long weekend y'all!

ICE assistant secretary John Morton announced that the government would no longer detain them if they can prove their identities, are not dangerous or a flight risk, and have a credible fear of persecution or torture in their home countries. http://bit.ly/4LM3F1
But it might be a tad early to celebrate.
The details of the plan are not yet clear. As Professor Regina Germaine of the Georgetown University Law Center observed in an email message to an Immigration Professors' Listserve, "the criteria for release has always been (since 1996) the 3 factors mentioned by John Morton - 1) ID, 2) not a danger or flight risk, and 3) credible fear. And the lack of one or more of these factors is cited when ICE refuses to release someone."
So, has Morton announced a new policy or has he simply restated the existing policy in a way which suggests release, but, in fact, will lead to continued detention of asylum seekers?
Another unanswered issue is whether the policy will be followed by ICE officers throughout the country. Professor Margaret Taylor of Wake Forest University suggests it's an open question. "Hopefully there will be 'buy in' and compliance in the field offices with this policy, but history suggests otherwise."
For now let's take the Administration at its word. But time will tell whether the draconian policy of incarcerating people who seek refuge in America has finally come to an end.

Hi. I am currently here in the US applying for AOS from a B2 to F1 visa. I sent my application on the 26th April with USPS Express mail request return reciept. My current 1 94 expired on April 28th. My return receipt from USPS says that my item was signed for on April 28th leaving me still in status but when I received my I 797 C it says that the receipt date is April 29th. I am very worried and I am wondering if this is something I should call their customer services department about. I do not want my application denied simply because I may seem not to be in status. Please help, I am very worried.

The system will release unused/canceled slots regularly. Usually early in the morning. Keep checking every morning and you will get open slots. Once you get an open slot, book the appointment immediately.

My I-485 (EB2) was submitted in 2007 and the PD is approaching, only 5 days away based on June's VB. My girlfriend is currently with F-1 visa and we are planning on getting married asap so that she can submit her 485 before my case is approved.
Here's the complete list that I can think of based on the research that I've done.
Documents that my future wife's need prepare
I-485 form
birth certificate
marriage certificate
medical exam
passport pages (I-94 card ect)
I-20 form

Hi
I lost my job in January and since I was not able to get a new project. So, returned back to India in May'09. My AP was valid till 21-July-2009. I did not file for extension while in US.
Now, I am getting a job in US and the employer is asking if I could join immdiately. Please let me know:
1. If there is any option for me to renew my AP from India?
2. Any other options, since my H1B got expired (6 years) in May'09.
Note: My EAD is valid till June 2010.

You cannot file AP while you are out side US.
You can still apply for seventh yeat extension and go for stamping.

LCA(H1B) is for the Company and not for the Employee.
If you check your LCA your name will not be there anywhere.

So are these different from the finger prints that we take for EAD? For people who got their priority date current, do they ask for a separate finger prints again? Does anyone can shed some light on this?
Yes the finger printing for EAD is type 2 and for I485 it is type 3. They are different.
Photos are different (this is an example)
.. in I485, nose ring was OK,
.. in EAD, nose ring to be removed

.. in I485 all the fingers rolled seperately (10), the four fingers (2) - might be missing some more
.. in EAD, index, non rolled (1)
When fingerprinting was paper based, it used to repeat every 15 months as paper print fades away(life of paper based). With electronic image, 15 months might not be required

What would be my Options.
